Today's special guest is a lady who first won our hearts as the exemplary wife and mother, Olivia Walton on the long running iconic TV series, “The Waltons”, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.
Michael Learned then went on to play Nurse Mary Benjamin on the popular TV show, “Nurse”, winning a total of 4 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama series, which is the HIGHEST number of Emmys any actor has EVER won. She was also nominated for 4 Golden Globe awards for her work on “The Waltons”. AND she’s helped to keep the legacy of “The Waltons” alive by appearing in numerous “Walton” reunion movies including “A Decade of the Waltons”, “Mother’s Day on Waltons Mountain”, “A Walton Thanksgiving Reunion”, “A Walton Wedding”, and “A Walton Easter”. You’ve also seen her in many other shows including “Hothouse”, “Living Dolls”, “The American Revolution”, “Scrubs”, “General Hospital”, “The Young and the Restless”, and a wonderful movie called “Second Acts”, which won her 2 Best Actress awards at film festivals, and a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Las Vegas International Film Festival. And I’m very excited to tell you that she recently completed filming Ryan Murphy’s brand new mini-series, “Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story”.
