Today’s guest, Lynn Santer, is a best selling author and internationally acclaimed filmmaker who’s making her second appearance on our show.
Last year she was here with her filmmaking partner, James Ganiere, to discuss her monumentally important, multiple award winning movie, “Land of the Free: In the Shadows”, which is mobilizing people all over the world to join the battle to end the barbaric practice of trophy hunting of endangered species.
Aside from her highly successful film career, she’s written numerous best selling books including “Sins of Life”, which led to a trilogy of novels, and a series of children’s books entitled “The Magical Scarecrows”, which earned her a nomination for the Pride of Australia Medal.
Today, she’s here to discuss her brand new novel, written for young adults, entitled “Swan Song”. The story is inspired by real events that occurred on the lake on our guest’s property, an idyllic tropical paradise called “Mermaid Waters”, at her home on the Gold Coast of Australia. The book tells a captivating, dramatic and heartwarming story of a community of swans and other wildlife, who endure treachery, sacrifice and self-discovery.
The book will form the basis of an animated feature film, to be executive produced by Priscilla Presley, and featuring the music of the Mzansi Youth Choir of Soweto, and compositions by Grammy nominated composer Mauritz Lotz.
